BEST TIME TO VISIT EVEREST BASE CAMP

The best time to visit Everest Base Camp is from late May to mid-September. September-November and February-May are the main trekking months with fairly stable conditions, good visibility and temperatures down to around -6°C at the base camp. At the base camp, in late April or early May, you can also meet groups of climbers preparing for their attempts at the summit of Everest. Although it is extremely cold in late November-February, around -15 °C during the day and much cooler, clear skies at night, usually with quiet trails and teahouses adding to a long sense of wild and unadulterated isolation. And the fall is great for visiting Everest Base Camp, but don’t overlook the winter, when there’s a snag in the air but almost no one on the trails.

  • Trekking pants, warm hat, gloves (waterproof and normal), and socks
  • The weight of the rucksack should not exceed 12-13 kg or else it will also have to be paid separately.

SOME IMPORTANT THINGS

  • One should always keep one’s body hydrated while trekking and drink at least 4-5 liters of water every day when it is above 3,000 square meters.
  • After finishing your daily hike, you should take plenty of rest.
  • Adequate food and calories should be consumed during trekking.
  • Wear enough and keep your body warm.
  • When you feel most of the symptoms of AMS, get down to a low altitude as quickly as possible.
  • Climb slowly while trekking and adapt properly to the needs of your body.
  • Travel with a local guide and travel agency to help them explore all possible outcomes.
